Do you know how to change a flat tire? If not, our associates here at Jaguar Buffalo in Williamsville, NY can help you find out how to safely change your flat tire with these tips.

There's some equipment that you'll need to change your flat: tire tools: a spare tire, a lug wrench, a flashlight, a car jack, and wheel chocks. It's also helpful if you have emergency warning devices in case you have to change your flat on the side of an interstate or busy road. Find a safe place to park, and you'll need to secure your vehicle with the emergency brake or parking brake.

If you haven't previously changed a flat tire, you can reference your owner's manual to find out where the spare, jack, and tools are located. Before you jack your vehicle, slightly loosen the lug nuts, but do not remove them at this time. Your vehicle should be lifted at least six inches and be sure that you never place a jack under the suspension member. After you remove the lug nuts, wheel, and spare tire, you can place the spare tire in position.
